Karen Diebel Earns NRCC "Contender" Status
Congressional Candidate Karen Diebel (FL-24) announced that she has added another $310,000 to her warchest to defeat liberal Suzanne Kosmas. The announcement comes on the heels of the NRCC's announcement that Diebel earned "Contender" status in the NRCC's Young Guns program, established to identify the most viable campaigns. She is one of only two candidates to earn this distinction. Diebel remains the most Conservative and most viable Republican.
Diebel raised over $110,000 in contributions this past fundraising quarter and has raised over $415,000 total in contributions. Karen has committed an additional $200,000 in personal funds to her campaign.
"I strongly believe in our effort to defeat liberal Suzanne Kosmas and replace her with a true, authentic conservative," said Karen Diebel. "Many people have sacrificed their time and their money to make me the fundraising leader in this race. I want them to know that my commitment is strong and we will have the resources to win."
Congressman Dick Schulze, honorary chair of the Diebel campaign and one of the "Reagan 13", welcomed the news.
"Karen Diebel is committed to changing the direction of this Congress," Schulze said. "She will not allow our Conservative seat to be bought and paid for by a status quo Republican who supported amnesty and the liberal wing of the Republican party- not without a fight."
Recognizing her committment to fiscal discipline, cutting taxes, cutting spending, and reducing the size of government, Diebel has garnered the support of the PACs of Florida's two largest employers: Publix and Verizon.
Diebel has earned strong conservative endorsements, in her effort to replace Suzanne Kosmas. Some of her supporters include:
-
Gov. Mike Huckabee
-
Mat Staver of Liberty Counsel
-
Concerned Women for America PAC
-
Congressman Tom Tancredo
-
Congressman Brian Bilbray, Chair of the Immigration Reform Caucus
-
Financial Services Roundtable PAC
-
Bay Buchanan
-
Adam Goldman, Vice President of FL Right to Life
The Catholic Advocate profiled Karen's campaign earlier this year and The Daily Beast named Karen Diebel the 7th best candidate in the entire country for social conservatives - a list topped by Marco Rubio and Pat Toomey.
